Final Lecture Held in the Fashion & Design Sector of the KUL Project

On May 27th, 2025, the final session of the Sustainable Fashion & Design module took place, marking the conclusion of a highly creative and thought-provoking educational journey within the KUL project.

Organized by CUK Bjelovar – Center for Lifelong Learning and Culture and held in collaboration with Callegari – Italian School of Fashion and Design, this module explored the intersection of creativity, sustainability, and innovation in the world of fashion.

The lecture gathered participants from all three partner countries:

  • 🇭🇷 Croatia – CUK Bjelovar

  • 🇷🇸 Serbia – Engineers for Environmental Protection Novi Sad

  • 🇸🇮 Slovenia – Development Center Murska Sobota

A Journey Through Sustainable Fashion

Over the course of three sessions, held on May 13th, May 20th, and May 27th, participants gained valuable insight into the growing field of sustainable fashion. Topics included:

  • 🌿 The use of eco-friendly and renewable materials

  • 🧵 Circular and slow fashion practices

  • 🎨 Sustainable design thinking

  • ♻️ Upcycling, reuse, and innovative production models

  • 🌍 The role of fashion in environmental and social responsibility

The final lecture served as both a summary and a deep dive into practical approaches to ethical fashion, encouraging participants to reflect on how design can influence positive change.

A Collaborative Effort Across Borders

One of the core strengths of the KUL project is its cross-border collaboration. The Fashion & Design module exemplified this through the active participation of all partner institutions, expert lecturers, and enthusiastic learners from Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

The collaboration with Callegari, a respected institution in Italy known for combining tradition and innovation in fashion education, enriched the content and provided a professional perspective rooted in real industry practices.

What’s Next?

Although the Fashion & Design module has now concluded, the KUL project continues with upcoming lectures and activities in other sectors, including:

  • Sustainable Cultural Tourism

  • Traditional Crafts

  • And more creative and cultural modules focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
