🌍 Creative Mobility in Novi Sad: Tradition, Inclusion, and Innovation Intertwined

As part of the Creative Europe program KUL – Culture, Art, Local, international participants from Croatia (CUK Bjelovar), Slovenia (Development Centre Murska Sobota), and Serbia (Association of Environmental Protection Engineers, Novi Sad) have gathered in Novi Sad for a dynamic and inspiring mobility program focusing on traditional and artistic crafts.

After a warm welcome and an inspiring start of the program, the participants continued their journey of cultural exchange and hands-on learning through a wide range of activities rooted in local craftsmanship, inclusion, and innovation.

🏛️ A Cultural Immersion at the City Museum
The day began with a guided tour of the City Museum of Novi Sad, where participants learned about the rich history, cultural evolution, and artistic heritage of the region. This visit offered an important context for understanding the roots of traditional crafts and their role in shaping local identity.

🧵 Weaving Workshop: Tradition in Practice
Hosted by the local Craftsmen’s Association, participants had the opportunity to try their hands at traditional weaving techniques. Under the guidance of experienced artisans, they experienced the tactile and meditative process of turning thread into textile – a timeless skill that continues to hold cultural and economic value in local communities.

🧴 Natural Cosmetics Workshop: Sustainability in Action
One of the highlights of the day was the natural cosmetics workshop, where participants created their own eco-friendly products using herbal ingredients. This hands-on activity emphasized sustainability, self-care, and the power of local resources – aligning perfectly with the project’s goals of promoting environmentally-conscious creativity.

🤝 Inclusion Through Creativity: Badges and Magnets with a Purpose
In collaboration with a local social organization for young people with autism, participants joined a meaningful workshop focused on creating badges and magnets. Beyond the final products, the real value of this activity lay in the exchange of experience, empathy, and joy. It served as a living example of inclusive practice, showing how creative work can bridge social gaps and empower all members of the community.

💬 Building Bridges Through Culture
Every activity within the KUL mobility program in Novi Sad is designed not only to showcase local traditions and talents but also to foster meaningful collaboration across borders. Whether it’s through weaving, visual design, or inclusive workshops, the program continues to prove that culture is a powerful connector – capable of transcending language and background.

Stay tuned as the mobility continues throughout the week, bringing new insights, friendships, and creative discoveries.
