🌍 KUL Mobility in Slovenia: Sustainable Cultural Tourism in Focus

The KUL Project has officially entered its second mobility phase! From June 9 to 15, 2025, participants from Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia have gathered in Murska Sobota, Slovenia, to explore the potential of Sustainable Cultural Tourism. This exciting mobility is hosted by our project partner, the Development Centre Murska Sobota (RCMS), and takes place across the picturesque Pomurje region.

A Week of Inspiration, Learning, and Cultural Exchange

The program is designed to showcase real-life examples of how cultural heritage, sustainability, and creative entrepreneurship can go hand-in-hand. Participants are accommodated at the Center for School and Extracurricular Activities Murska Sobota, where they gather daily before venturing into the field.

The week is packed with activities, ranging from guided visits to local cultural landmarks to interactive workshops led by professionals and artists working in the field of cultural sustainability. The mobility brings together practitioners, educators, and creatives who are eager to learn from each other and apply this knowledge in their own communities.

Highlights of the Mobility Week:

🔹 Visit to Expano Pavilion and Lake Sobota – a striking architectural site and a hub for regional promotion and eco-tourism.

🔹 Visit to Pušča, the only Roma settlement in Slovenia with its own local community – offering insights into social inclusion and cultural diversity.

Why This Mobility Matters

This mobility represents more than just a learning experience—it’s a collaborative effort to reimagine cultural tourism through a sustainability lens. By engaging with local communities, traditions, and innovative eco-cultural practices, participants are gaining valuable skills and perspectives to enrich their own professional and creative work.

At the heart of the KUL Project lies the belief that cultural heritage is a living resource. When approached with care, creativity, and responsibility, it can inspire meaningful change and sustainable growth.

What’s Next?

As this mobility wraps up on June 15, we look forward to sharing more reflections, media content, and outputs produced by participants. Meanwhile, the final mobility of the KUL Project is just around the corner—stay tuned as the third mobility, focused on digital and creative industries, unfolds!
