GOODBYE, SLOVENIA – NEXT STOP: CROATIA!

The second mobility of the KUL project – focused on the sector of Sustainable Cultural Tourism – has officially come to a close, and what a vibrant, inspiring journey it has been! Hosted by our fantastic partners at the Development Centre Murska Sobota, the week was packed with learning, creativity, and intercultural exchange in the heart of the Pomurje region of Slovenia.

From Nature and Crafts to Wine and Innovation

On Friday, our participants explored the serene and eco-conscious Pachamama Center, where the blend of nature, sustainability, and wellness offered a peaceful contrast to the busy world we often live in. The center’s ethos deeply resonated with the values of sustainable tourism, reminding us that preservation of culture and environment go hand in hand.

The day continued with a visit to the renowned Steyer Wine Estate, a family-run vineyard known not only for its exceptional wines but also for its dedication to tradition and regional identity. Participants were offered a unique opportunity to understand the role of small-scale, authentic tourism in sustaining local economies – while enjoying some of the best wines the region has to offer!

Saturday – Stories That Stay With Us

Saturday took us into the heart of rural Pomurje, where we were welcomed by a local family estate. This visit was more than just a tour – it was a personal story of resilience, love for the land, and the future of tourism rooted in community and sustainability. The hosts shared their journey of developing a sustainable business, blending traditional knowledge with modern ecological practices. Their dedication left a strong impression on all participants and sparked valuable discussions about responsible rural tourism.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Murska Sobota Gallery, where the contemporary art scene of Pomurje was on full display in the exhibition of Maruša Štibelj. It was a moment to reflect on how art continues to be a powerful medium of cultural expression, even in today’s fast-paced world.

The evening wrapped up with the Pomurje Biserov event at Kavarna Platana – a celebration of local talents, handmade crafts, music, and culinary delights. It was the perfect ending to a week full of learning, laughter, and intercultural exchange.

Thank You, Slovenia! 💚

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all the local hosts, artists, guides, and communities who opened their doors and shared their time, knowledge, and inspiration with us. Your generosity made this mobility experience not only valuable but unforgettable.

Onward to Bjelovar – The Final Chapter Begins!

But the KUL journey isn’t over yet! As of today, we’re back on the road – this time to Bjelovar, Croatia, where the final KUL mobility begins. Hosted by CUK Bjelovar, the project lead of the KUL initiative, the last mobility will gather participants from all partner countries once again, focusing on collaboration, storytelling, and practical applications of everything we’ve learned.

Stay tuned as we continue to share insights, moments, and inspirations from the last chapter of this exciting international project. 🚀
